Automating network operations made easy as building with Lego blocks

Prodapt’s flow-based no-code BOT solution, integrated with the Netbots.AI framework, empowered NOC engineers to automate workflows without the need to write code

Background

Service providers worldwide are at different stages of their digital transformation journeys. In their journey to roll out new-generation network technologies, they face several challenges in providing quality services faster.

In addition, the advent of automation, AI, and other technologies has opened new doors for the Network Operations Center (NOC), empowering them to reduce disruptions and downtime. Today, improving and optimizing the NOC is a top priority for the CXOs.

The CXOs must automate the NOC to monitor and manage one of the critical assets in their organization, the network. However, despite various attempts, many operations centers fail to meet the desired service levels due to inadequate automation and expensive tools.

How should CXOs build an efficient process for NOC operations and address network problems faster?

3Ximprovement in addressing incidents

Client Situation

Our client is the largest Canadian communications and media company operating primarily in wireless communications, cable television, telephony, and the internet. They approached Prodapt for continuous process improvement initiatives to reduce manual intervention and handoffs between departments within their NOC operations.

They spent millions of dollars on third-party robotic process automation tools, integration, maintenance and support, and RPA scaling costs. They were looking for a robust solution to accelerate network issue resolution without much dependency on automation teams and reduce NOC expenses.

Our NetBots.AI and
flow-based solution helped the client accelerate the delivery of services and reduce resolution time.

Diagnosis

The client was using multiple automation tools built on disparate platforms, operating separately, without communicating with each other. Despite embracing automation, many processes relied on human intervention, such as analyzing network incidents, generating incident cards, and preparing daily summaries.

Their traditional automation platforms were complex, costly, and lacked agility and scalability. Although seasoned developers were involved, the development processes took several months to complete. In addition, their dependency on the automation team to resolve critical customer issues increased the wait time.

A standardized automation framework was needed to consistently address network incidents to provide the NOC with specific procedures to resolve problems faster.

Solving It

Our flow-based programming solution integrated with our open-source-based Netbots.AI Framework streamlined the workflows. Our solution, also known as the Technology Automation Framework (TAF) design studio, is a no-code, drag-and-drop tool with pre-built connectors that empower NOC engineers to build workflows and automate processes easily.

The availability of the BOT library, interface customization, and workflow templates allowed NOC teams to significantly reduce the time spent on resolving problems without support from automation experts.

We trained no-code developers, allowing NOC teams to keep up with their ever-increasing workload/tickets while focusing on critical items rather than monotonous tasks.

Successful implementation of NetBOT.AI framework of a no-code BOT reduced development effort. The NOC teams could accelerate the creation of workflows from days to minutes. They also realized a 3X improvement in addressing incidents.
